Open Educational Resources : Unlocking Knowledge to the Global Community

"OER are teaching, learning and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use or re-purposing by others. Open educational resources include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials or techniques used to support access to knowledge.IAPSS will join the Open Educational Resources (OER) movement, as an affiliate organization of Open Course Ware and partner of Video lectures (and other OER sources) , with the objective to disseminate and create a web-based open publication of university courses and conferences related to political science. IAPSS Association Members will motivate their respective universities to join in this global initiative that will benefit the global political science community.IAPSS Open Learning will express the goal of advancing education in political science sphere around the world ,trough a global community in with knowledge and ideas are shared openly for the benefit of all.

IAPSS Open Learning : IAPSS Open Course Ware and IAPSS Videolectures.net

"An Open Course Ware is a free and open digital publication of high quality educational materials, organized as courses. The Open Course Ware Consortium is a collaboration of more than 250 higher education institutions and associated organizations from around the world creating a broad and deep body of open educational content using a shared model. The mission of the Open Course Ware Consortium is to advance education and empower people worldwide through Open Learning" .We are proud to mention that IAPSS is the first international student association taking part in this initiative like a affiliate partner.IAPSS members can participate and benefit with the translation and distribution of all open content political science material available from consortium institutions.We will include four association members to join IAPSS Open Learning and run pilot project in their universities. The main purpose of the project Videolectures.Net is to provide free and open access of a high quality video lectures presented by distinguished scholars and scientists at the most important and prominent events like conferences, summer schools, workshops and science promotional events from many fields of Science.The project Videolectures.Net has started at Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia, Europe in early 2002 in synergy with the global trends and more formal efforts by the European Union in creating a Knowledge Economy and Information Society.With IAPSS Videolectures objective is to record Lectures from IAPSS Conferences and the most important International Political Science Conferences. IAPSS Videolectures first project will be to provide open access of video lectures from the 12th IAPSS Annual Academic Conference and General Assembly, 21st IPSA World Congress of Political Science and ECPR Summer School.

dScribe : Pilot Projects Method for IAPSS Association Members

The method of work that our association members will use to implement an IAPSS Open Learning Pilot Project in their faculties is dScribe- a student-centric model of open educational resource publication.The dScribe method establishes a powerful new participatory paradigm in higher education by involving students in an active teaching and learning process. Is a methodology that our association members will use in order to offer to their respective universities and insitutions a set of tools to sutain a grassroots of Open Educational Resources effort.With support of OCW and Videolectures, IAPSS is developing the first project pilots of IAPSS Open Learning in the upcoming months. During the 12th IAPSS Academic Conference and General Assembly-IAPSS ExCom presented the initiative to IAPSS Association Members,  and in the upcoming weeks we will provide to our associations members with the necessary information to take part in this initiative via Videolectures.net and Open Course Ware.
