IAPSS Honorary Membership is not open to the public, but only granted to those members that have shown an extraordinary dedication towards the Association, whether that is in an executive position or just as an ordinary member.

Honorary Membership is granted by the General Assembly upon recommendation by the Executive Committee, and to date IAPSS has awarded three honorary memberships to individuals. They do not have voting rights in the General Assembly, but their membership is lifelong, and they have an advisory opinion role during IAPSS General Assemblies.

Over the three years of his involvement, he has shown highest dedication and accurarcy to his tasks and took leadership in difficult situations of the association. His commitment and dedication over the years has inspired many.

Gabriella Lucia Marzonetto, from Buenos Aires (Argentina) has dedicated a tremendous amount of time, creativity and continuous efforts on the revitalisation of POLITIKON – IAPSS’ flagship and oldest journal – after a year-long period of inactivity. It was due to her commitment, that a new editorial board was put together, working closely together on the re-launch of the publication. For more than two years the IAPSS journal “POLITIKON” did not see the light of day. For various reasons, including a lack of intense commitment and dedication, this outstanding service to members of the association was not republished. Gabriela Marzonetto took over the position of Editor of POLITIKON in 2011 and lead the journal back to former glory. She did not hesitate to dedicate herself to the case and to stem this tremendous challenge by weeks and months of consecutive work. Gabriela Marzonetto, together with IAPSS ExCom Vice-President for Academic Matters, Rodrigo Vaz, initiated a new Advisory and Reviewing board, including high rank Political Science professionals from around the globe, lead a promising new team of contributers and took over the position as IAPSS Coordinator for Publications in late 2012 which directly refers to the IAPSS Vice-President for Academic Matters – shortly after the 1st volume of POLITIKON after more than 2 years was finally published in Autumn 2012.
