The International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) is herewith launching a Call for Applications for positions in the Editorial Board of IAPSS Politikon (starting as Junior Editor or Editor depending on academic qualifications and expertise).
IAPSS Politikon Editorial Board members work within the IAPSS Academic Department in close cooperation with the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal. They have key responsibility for the evaluation of manuscripts submitted to the journal and participate in the development of the journal as members of the editorial team. Currently, we are particularly interested in colleagues who could be involved in the promotional activities of the journal and the journal’s webinar project in addition to regular editorial work.
IAPSS Politikon is recognized as a global junior academic journal publishing works of students and scholars of all levels of experience from across the fields of political science and international relations. Founded in 2001, the journal is published four times a year and available in an open-access format. The journal is currently indexed in DOAJ, ERIH Plus, IPS Abstracts and J-Gate.
The journal administers a rigorous but constructive peer review process for manuscripts preceded by editorial board evaluations.
IAPSS is looking for members of the Politikon Editorial Board. A suitable candidate IS REQUIRED to:
- be at least enrolled in a graduate program in a social scientific discipline with demonstrated expertise on selected questions or puzzles pertaining to Political Science,
- have an interest in academic publishing,
- have a record of academic interest in the methodology of social sciences.
Furthermore, the position demands:
- dedication to the job,
- strong organizational skills,
- an excellent command of the English language,
- a high degree of autonomy,
- a professional level of communication,
- efficient time management, and
- the capacity to meet deadlines.
The position is – as all other positions within IAPSS – UNPAID and extends for the duration of two years and depending on mutual satisfaction.
In addition, occupying the position implies that you are a member of IAPSS at the moment of your installment and during your whole term as Member of the Editorial Board. Therefore, if you are not already a member you will be required to apply for membership in case of acceptance.
