Your tasks

You would work together with the IAPSS Secretary General to administer information technology requests from all departments and regional branches of the organization. The Secretariat is the operational ‘brain’ of IAPSS bodies and procedures, so you and your team members are directly responsible for ensuring IAPSS’ information technology systems function smoothly and are updated in an efficient and timely manner.  Your core tasks will include responding to information technology requests; updating the IAPSS website; improving the organization’s digital resources and infrastructure; creating, analyzing, and acting on data reports; as well as maintaining and improving IAPSS’ information management systems. You will be required to dedicate at least 10 hours each week to the role and must respond to online communications including but not limited to email and Slack within 48 hours.

While your primary department would be the IAPSS Secretariat, you will also receive tasks directly from the VP for Academic Affairs and the Academic Department on requests involving IAPSS’ Online Journal Systems and other information technology matters related to the Academic Department.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Independent work ethic: we are specifically looking for proactive people who anticipate problems and solve them before they occur;
  • Experience with website maintenance and administration using WordPress or an equivalent platform;
  • Experience with Online Journal Systems or a general understanding of how they work and how to update and maintain them;
  • Experience with Slack or a similar project management application;
  • Experience with information management;
  • Experiencing communicating with internal stakeholders with information technology requests in a professional and respectful manner;
  • Excellent written skills in English;
  • Working experience in INGOs and familiarity with administrative work an asset.
