What is CPSSA?
The Canadian Political Science Students’ Association (CPSSA/AÉSPC) is a non-profit organization run by undergraduate students studying in Canada. Every year, the CPSSA/AÉSPC held a conference that allowed students from coast to coast to come together to share knowledge and perspectives on themes within the discipline of Political science. In addition to the conference, the organization publishes its own undergraduate journal called “Expressions”, and develops a “Graduate Guide” for students who require guidance over graduate programs.
The Vice-President will be working very closely with the President. We are looking for a meticulous Vice President to play a significant role in assisting managing the team and overseeing CPSSA operations with the President. The Vice President’s responsibilities include working closely with the president and overseeing internal operations, helping to build strong student relationships, and helping to achieve the CPSSA’s goal to help students involved with CPSSA and IAPPS. The Vice President supports the CPSSA organization President and must be able to step in when the President is away from the office or otherwise unavailable. The successful Vice President should be innovative with strong leadership and managerial skills and knowledge of student groups and should also be motivational, a good public speaker, confident, and goal-oriented.
- Assisting the President and the board of directors to continue to grow CPSSA’s overall mission, values, and strategic goals.
- Attending meetings with the board of directors and sharing information on the tasks.
- Contributing to student groups innovations, strategic plans, and goals.
- Evaluating the success of CPSSA in achieving its goals.
You must be a member of IAPSS and residing in Canada during the time you hold the position (all IAPSS members in Canada are automatically considered members of CPSSA).
As we are all volunteers, this is a non-paid position.
