Call for Applications
for the position of
IAPSS Ambassadors
of the International Association of Political Science Students (IAPSS)

The International Association for Political Science Students is launching a Call for Applications for the IAPSS Ambassadors Program. The ambassadors work directly with the Membership Campaign and Promotion Coordinator within the IAPSS Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations. They implement strategies and projects that aim to maintain, promote and represent the association’s objectives.

The responsibilities of the IAPSS Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations are diverse and include fundraising, social media, PR, and membership campaigns.

Ambassadors are in charge of various tasks related to the public outreach of the association. They work alongside the Membership Campaign Coordinator and Media Coordinator and responsibilities include the following tasks:

Maintenance and building of regional networks for IAPSS (whether it is with political science students, departments, organizations, associations, or even university partners for future events or projects);
Promotion of IAPSS, its projects and events (which include content creation);
Provide monthly updates to the Membership Campaign and Promotions coordinator on project development.


A high degree of responsibility, motivation, self-initiative and dedication, combined with reliability and flexibility with regards to the work in a highly international environment with a strong intercultural competence;
Excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written);
Current or recent enrolment in a political science or related programme (of any educational level incl. undergraduate or graduate studies or a PhD position);
Strong communication skills with an extensive understanding of the various facets of public relations and digital means of communication, as well as creativity and innovation;
Experience in and willingness to work with a high degree of organizational and conceptual freedom, but committed to adhere to work-related frameworks;
It is also beneficial if candidates have:
Experience with IAPSS such as previous event or project participation;
Experience with social media management;
Experience with organizational promotion.

IAPSS Membership

Being an IAPSS Ambassador implies that you are a member of IAPSS at the moment of your appointment and during the entire duration of the position. If you are not a member yet, you need to become a member if you are appointed for this position. IAPSS membership embraces a wide range of benefits and services and comes at a student-friendly rate of either 10 or 15 EUR per year depending on your country of origin. Discounted rates are available for two-year memberships.

As all positions in the IAPSS Board, the position of the IAPSS Ambassador is unpaid and voluntary. Expected workload is around 4-6 hours per week.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is the executive body of the association. It consists of the President, Secretary-General, Treasurer, Head of the Academic Department, Head of the Events Department, Head of World Congress, Head of Convention and Head of the International Cooperation & Public Relations Department. Members are normally elected to this body at the General Assembly, taking place in April each year.
